A virtual-card partnership concept

International spending, without rebuilding your financial life.

PrepaidChina is a concept for foreign residents in China: an app and virtual international card, with licensed partners handling verification, funding, FX, remittance and issuing underneath.

The arrival moment

Domestic life works. International life still exists.

You arrive, open a salary account and learn the local payment landscape. A Chinese bank account, UnionPay, WeChat Pay and Alipay can make domestic life work very well.

But your international financial life continues: software subscriptions, online shopping, gifts for family and ordinary expenses connected with life outside China.

Experienced residents eventually assemble a workaround. New arrivals should not need a remittance provider, destination account and separate card just to make one modest purchase.

One ordinary purchase

Need a £30 purchase?

    Spend

The value becomes available to the saved virtual international card for online use.

Interactive prototype

See the customer experience

Explore the intended front-end journey from reusable verification to a small card load and international purchase. Every regulated function remains clearly simulated and would be operated or controlled by licensed partners.

Try the customer demo

Regulated underneath

The plumbing stays out of the customer’s way — not outside the rules.

01

Eligible funds

Lawful salary income and approved funding that meet the partner’s tax, source-of-funds and eligibility requirements.

02

Licensed infrastructure

Identity checks, KYC/AML, funding, FX, remittance, safeguarding and card issuing as the chosen structure requires.

03

Simple experience

The customer sees Open. Add. Spend. — not beneficiary accounts, intermediary banks, SWIFT or remittance chains.

The final structure could be a China-issued international-network card, an approved remittance-funded overseas wallet/card, or another compliant partner-approved model. PrepaidChina defines the customer experience; licensed providers determine the regulated plumbing.

Can compliant infrastructure be packaged cheaply and quickly enough that a £20–£50 international purchase feels like topping up a card rather than initiating an international money transfer?

A natural first partner

Why SkyRemit / Skyee is a natural fit

  • SkyRemit already serves foreign residents in China moving documented after-tax salary internationally.
  • Its current process verifies identity, eligibility and taxed income.
  • Eligible remittance orders can use China-side funding routes including bank transfer, Alipay and WeChat Pay.
  • Skyee has broader cross-border payments, FX, technology/API and virtual-card experience elsewhere in its business.

PrepaidChina believes SkyRemit / Skyee could be an unusually strong partner to explore this model with.

This is a partnership proposition only. It does not imply an existing partnership, endorsement, integration or product approval.

Partner feasibility

The questions to answer together

  1. 01Can a verified foreign worker receive a virtual international card or wallet funded only from eligible, evidenced income?
  2. 02Can salary and tax verification be reused so small loads do not feel like a fresh remittance every time?
  3. 03Which legal structure is best?
  4. 04Can the funding step be embedded via API?
  5. 05Can £20, £30 and £50 loads be economical?
  6. 06Can Skyee provide card or wallet capability directly or through an issuing partner?

A focused first step

A small, testable pilot

Explore one tightly defined customer group: verified foreign professionals with documented after-tax salary income and an occasional need for small international online purchases.

Start with virtual cards, narrow load bands and partner-defined eligibility. Test whether the experience is understandable, operationally practical and commercially sensible before widening the proposition.

Partnership

Built to complement regulated infrastructure.

PrepaidChina defines the consumer brand, focused customer experience and distribution proposition. We are looking for licensed partners to determine and operate the right issuing, funding, verification, FX, remittance, API and settlement structure.
